 To reach its goals, Springfield Local Schools offers innovative and successful approaches to education that strengthen the skills and abilities of our students. By setting rigorous standards that define character, academic success, and achievement, the Springfield Board of Education, Administration, faculty and staff have developed an educational environment that supports each child. The Springfield teaching staff maximizes the learning potential of each student by setting high expectations for achievement. They provide creative approaches to learning based on many years of professional development and training in several areas including differentiated instruction and layered curriculum. These teachers average 14 years of teaching experience and 62% have attained Master’s or higher degrees As a district, in 2007, Springfield achieved a rating of EFFECTIVE from the Ohio Department of Education on the Ohio Local Report Card. Its "Performance Index" was rated as 96.1. A standards-based curriculum provides seamless teaching and learning strategies for all students in grades kindergarten through grade 12. Crissey Elementary School attained the highest rating of 'EXCELLENT," while all other schools were awarded ratings of 'EFFECTIVE." The welfare of Springfield’s almost 4,000 students is a daily priority for our teachers and each person is committed to our mission of providing exceptional education for today's learners and tomorrow's leaders.
