Maumee boasts a middle class population with a strong belief that great schools mean a great community. This is seen in both academics and athletics. The Maumee City School district has received an "Excellent" rating from the State of Ohio for the last two school year. We are proud of the messge this sends to residents and potential residents that Maumee's schools are among the best in the state. Athletically, many Maumee teams consistently post impressive records and the school has produced several nationally recognized athletes. Youth soccer, softball, and Little League baseball begin for children as early as three-years-old and the City’s Parks and Recreation Department and school district cooperatively organize other team sports beginning in fourth grade.
